Our old pastor, Dr. Robert "Bobby" Moore, used to tell us every Sunday at Broadway Baptist Church that we needed to have a personal devotional life. Not just a few seconds in the morning and a quick prayer to make it through the day, although praying is important, but a time where you get alone with God and learn from His Word who He is, and who you are in Christ. To do otherwise, as he aptly put it, is like running outside into a battlefield in your underwear rather than your armor.
